Our Mission

We center, protect, and grow spaces for Women/Trans/Femme/Non-Binary riders in the cycling community. We empower them through education, development, and performance

About

Ride or Die Collective was founded by a desire to create a platform for women to reach their highest goals in a safe and supportive environment. What once was a group ride of 4 friends in a matching kit turned into the largest riding community in the Rockies.

When founder, Rebecca Brough decided to launch on International Women’s Day 2021 with a mask-required group ride, in no way did she think 70+ women would join. It was a bit overwhelming, a little scary but completely eye-opening to the need for WTFN-B protected spaces. From that day on her life’s mission was to change the status quo of what it meant to be a WTFN-B athlete.

Fast forward to 2024, RDC is certified 501c3 led by Community Director, Taylor Brower, Race Team Director, Airika Romsdahl, and Founder, Rebecca Brough, and over 100+ amazing members.

Our Structure

The Ride or Die Collective currently offers two unique team options for riders to join. In 2024, there will be limited spots available for our sponsored Race Team that focuses on road and gravel racing. Athletes who apply to this team must meet a set of expectations listed below. Our Collective team will continue to focus on community growth with new goals set to increase WTFN-B participation in sports. Participation on either team requires riders to go through an application process and meet specific expectations.

The Race Team caters to a more experienced racer, which in RDC’s eyes is someone who is looking to train on a bike with performance in mind and community at heart. The Collective Team is for those who are looking for resources and a sense of belonging in a male-dominated sport. Both of these teams fall under the umbrella of Ride Or Die Collective and will uphold RDC’s core mission on and off the bike. We have realized that this organization attracts vast journeys, and as a leader in this community we want to create space for wherever your journey lies.

We understand that not everyone will meet the requirements of either team but we believe that if there is a will then there is a way. We will continue to offer community rides open to the public while also adding more educational clinics that riders can attend to get to know RDC, enhance bike skills, and test their commitments. For those who have a desire for the Race Team but are shy of the qualifications, we will offer opportunities to the Collective Team to train and test their skills to be considered for a position. This will take patience and consistent intentional work towards the goal with the support of your team.

Collective Team members will be selected by a committee of 5 members. If we have not had the chance to ride with you, we will ask to schedule a virtual or in-person meet-up on or off the bike. The Collective Team members are selected based on their alignment with RDC’s mission, commitment to community, and accountability.

RDC Race Team

The Race Team (split between road racing and gravel racing) will be made up of approximately 14 riders who have a performance and racing mindset. This is the team to apply for if you are actively training to race at least four events in the 2024 season, want to have race specific training partners, and are looking to meet racing focused obligations.
