The Rad Dirt: Mid Pack or Back
Gravel is better with a crew.
We’re excited to launch our “Mid Pack or Back” program at The Rad Dirt Fest on September 28th in Trinidad, Colorado. We welcome all riders to ride with an RDC pacer for every route option at The Rad. Whether you want to start with us to feel out pace, have support the entire ride, need a little pick-up mid-ride or want to bring it home with us…We Want You. Each ride leader will be at the corner of Main and S. Convent St. 30 minutes prior to the start of the race to gather the group and answer any last-minute questions. From there the pacer will ensure riders meet a mid-pack pace based on previous years’ results. Each pace group will stop at aid stations and ensure the group’s goals are met.
Sign up below, come by our tent at The Rad Expo, or join us on our Shakout Ride at 4 pm on Friday to sign up and meet your ride leaders.
Pacing will go as follows:
40 mile distance 10-12mph
Please meet at the corner of Main and S. Convent St at 10:00 am
70 mile distance 11-13mph
Please meet at the corner of Main and S. Convent St at 9:30 am
110 mile distance 12-14mph
Please meet at the corner of Main and S. Convent St at 8:30 am
That Other Gravel Ride - Summers End
Every Wednesday at Full Cycle Bike Shop. Meet @ 5:20pm, rollout at 5:30pm
Route: Spicy, Mild TBD
We are hosting weekday group rides open to everyone! There is️ only one rule...DON’T KILL THE VIBE! If you are looking to be “champion of the group ride” we will ask that you stay home. If you are looking to have fun, be social and sweat, then hop on and hit the dirt.
RDC ride members get happy hour pricing post ride + 10% off your Full Cycle purchase by mentioning RDC at checkout.
All riders should ensure their equipment is in good working order, have a spare tube and bike pump in case of flat, and know how to get back to Full Cycle. “Spicy” group expectations are that you always practice excellent group etiquette by calling things out, are comfortable riding in large groups, know the route, can average 17+mph in the group, and are ok with being dropped. “Mild” group expectations are that riders improve their group etiquette, practice riding safely, are comfortable riding in medium sized groups, and can average 14-16mph.
That Other Gravel Ride - Ride Policy
The TOGR ride doesn’t have too many rules. We look forward to this part in our season, where we all get together and enjoy the beautiful Boulder evenings and post ride hangs. For the most part we ride rain or shine…because we just love to ride. With that being said, weather is a bit unpredictable when we kick things off, and as we approach Summer, so we thought it best to lay some ground rules.
Rules:
Be adaptive…we change routes, we combine groups and we sometimes go a bit longer than expected. We do this for the safety and morale of the group. All of these decisions are expressed at the beginning of the ride so you have the choice to bail if desired.
We will not ride if the weather is under 40 degrees fahrenheit. Once again, this ride is about community and pure enjoyment. This is not meant to be a training ride.
We do not ride if there is lightning. We won’t judge or tell if you decide to carry on your Wednesday night ride, but your ride is considered unofficial and not led by a member of RDC.
We will make all final decisions by 5pm the night of the ride. These updates will be shared on instagram and our website. If you do not see a cancellation, expect there to be an RDC leader at Full Cycle to lead you. If weather changes between 5:00-5:30pm, a RDC member will still show up to make the call onsite.

The Rad Dirt Fest Social Ride
We’re doing things a bit different….
We’re planning a girls weekend and we think it would be RAD if you joined. We’re heading to the Spanish Peaks in Trinidad, Colorado to ride some bikes, share some laughs, crack some beers, and scratch the itch for an end-of-season adventure.
We’ve planned a couple of meet-ups for us to work out the details together and give 3 opportunities for a free entry (ugh…free girls trip!) to The Rad Dirt Fest. These are meet-ups with bikes…not training rides! Meetups and details are shared on Instagram and posted to our website here.
Oh…that’s not it! We said girls weekend, so it’s not a one-and-done. You will be sick of us by Sunday…we know it. We will meet up at the RDC booth for gear checks, share some miles the day before to shake out the car legs, and then have a pacer for each distance keeping the fun going on race day. This new addition is part of our promise to keep the chill and ride a MID PACK OR BACK pace of 11-12mph with friends. Start with us, let us swoop you up when things get tough or bring it home with the crew!
Guarantee your spot on the trip and REG FOR THE RAD DIRT FEST (fancy name for our trip…we know).

Ned Gravel Shakeout Ride
Thursday at Full Cycle Bike Shop. Meet @ 5:20pm, rollout ~ 5:30pm
Route: Here
Join us for a Ned Gravel Shakeout Ride! Whether racing or not, we will be rolling out from Full Cycle around 5:30 for a mellow out and back by the Boulder Res. Pick up your racer packet and head out with us!
The route will leave Full Cycle and take the Goose Creek Path to 47th where we will head east on Jay and make a left onto 55th and head out by the Boulder reservoir. We will make a left onto Niwot road and then a right onto 49th until we hit Oxford Rd where we will turn around and head back the same way we came. This is a great route to pick your own distance. Any riders can turn around early and be picked back up by the group on the way back.
Note: There will be another group that does their weekly road rides leaving around the same time (we will stagger roll out a little bit), so make sure to keep an eye out for the RDC kit to know you’re in the right group.
That Other Gravel Ride

Collective Ride Series
When: Saturday July 6th | 8:30 am
Where: Full Cycle Boulder
Route: Here ** See below for additional route options
What: Join us for a Logan Mill extravaganza! This month’s collective ride will be gravel-focused hitting the hills west of Boulder.
Depending on group size, we will all roll out together and head toward Sunshine Canyon to regroup at the base. Heading up Sunshine, we will take Poorman to connect over to Fourmile Canyon and meet up again over at the base of Logan Mill road. The Logan Mill climb has a few different twists and turns, but make sure to download the GPS route and have a buddy or two to climb with. We will have a regroup spot at the top of the climb. The main route takes us on the “high route” which consists of single track and some more technical dirt before connecting back over to Sugarloaf road where we will descend down the canyon and hop onto Chapman Road to climb up and head down Flagstaff and roll back to Full Cycle.
Not feeling the single track at the top of Logan Mill? Dont worry, we have this route here that bypasses that?
On a time crunch and need to skip over Chapman? We got you. Download this route here which takes you down the creek path back to Full Cycle
Tentative Regroup Points (**subject to group size/pace and ride leader discretion)

Minimum recommended donation is $3.
In general our "Advanced" rides typically come with the expectation that participants are comfortable riding in a pack with others, practice good group etiquette, and that they know the route (in case they can't hang on to the pace for the entire ride). "Advanced" rides are generally appropriate for experienced riders that are looking for a workout, are ok being dropped, and can average 18-20mph+ in a road group and 15-17mph+ in a gravel group.
If you're not comfortable riding in a large pack, or are not sure what pace\effort is appropriate, the "Intermediate" option may a good starting option. Our "Intermediate" rides are very inclusive, and are almost always no-drop or will include a sweep. This group is intended to allow almost everyone to participate and have help (if desired) along the way. This is a great option for those that want to grow, have lots of questions, are looking to focus on gaining confidence, and can average 15-17mph in a road group and 13-15mph in a gravel group.
Our beginner ride is paced for those who are new to group riding or riding in general. This ride is 100% no-drop and is a great place to learn the basics of group riding and skills needed to gain strength and confidence. No prior experience is needed on this ride. All bikes are welcome but we if you bring a TT bike to any of our rides you are not allowed to ride in the aero position out of safety for the other riders.
One ride is not better than the other. We simply have different expectations depending on what group a rider wants to join. Each group offers different levels of input and growth depending on what a rider is looking for. Stay tuned to our website, and your inbox, for regular updates, tips and insight. Crusher in Tushar Training Series: Day In Hell
When: Sunday, June 30th
Where: Full Cycle Boulder (back parking lot)
Rollout: 8:00 am
Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/47330513
What: This four-part series is designed to prepare you for the Tushar Mountains and a hard day in the saddle. RDC will be offering nutrition tips, pacing strategies, bike skills, and more to ensure you are set to tackle Lifetimes Crusher in Tushar. If you’re looking to enhance your skills but don’t have an interest in racing, this series offers value to all.
For the last ride of the series, we will do a Crusher course simulation on our home roads. As always, this route allows for multiple bailout options pending your goals and legs on the day. The course will take you up to Gold Hill via Sunchine Canyon where we will briefly stop to refuel before continuing our climbing to Peak to Peak. From there we will flip it and head back to the base of Sunshine Canyon to do it another time. At the base, we will take a moment to regroup and asses fueling and hydration. Our second lap will end at the Gold Hill Store before we head back down the canyon again. From there, we have one more climb after crossing Wonderland Park connecting us to Lee Hill Drive. We will connect to Bow Mountain and descend all the back to Full Cycle.
Suggested Equipment:
Bike computer for route upload
Hydration pack (this is good to test out comfort and usability but necessary to the route)
Minimum of 38c tires (Sunshine decent has plenty of washboards)
2 water bottles
Fuel for 5+ hours if you are completing the entire route
SAFTG - TEAM RIDE
SAFTG Team Ride
We are super excited to put a weekly team-only ride back on the calendar. This month we are heading up to Gold Hill. The ride will start at 8:00 am weekly and members will meet at the back of Full Cycle. Please take a look at the notes below to ensure everyone is on the same page.
Things to note:
There is no formal ride leader so you are responsible for having the route and leaving when the bulk of the group is ready to roll
We encourage members to do what feels best for them. If Gold Hill is a stretch, feel free to turn around when it makes sense. If you want to add on to your Gold Hill lap feel free to do so.
Find your people. It’s not fun to ride solo on a “team ride”. The more people that attend, the more likely you will find your pace buddy and get the most out of the ride.
We would love to see you all in team kit for this ride. It helps us promote our sponsors and ensure access to discounts in the future.

We welcome all bodies, experiences, and genders on bikes! We strive to omit barriers to cycling through our free gear closet, community events, resource sharing, educational opportunities, and monthly group rides. We value creating community just as much as we love riding bikes.
